Ladybug Productions is our brainchild and second act, launched with the resources, experience and relationships gained after many years as lawyers, executives and connectors.
Early in our long friendship, we discovered our shared passion for the performing arts. We nurtured our creative selves, even as we pursued rigorous careers in advocacy and law. Our opportunity to work together crystallized in creating a musical based on Sally's 2006 middle grade novel, INVINCIBLE.
Bringing INVINCIBLE's story of strong females overcoming obstacles to the stage energized us and gave us our start. We quickly realized that we wanted to foster other theatrical projects. Soon, our friend, mentor and Tony award winning producer Ken Davenport, offered us our first opportunity to co-produce his Broadway play, GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER, and we leapt.
Thus, "Ladybug Productions" was born - the name bespeaks a female owned and inspired business and is reminiscent of influential women in our lives whose ongoing memories inspire us to strive to be our best selves: Sally's mom and Jill's first cousin.
We are excited to develop new works and join with others to foster projects already underway. We especially are drawn to stories of defying odds, self-realization and change agents. We are also particularly interested in stories where women are central to the tale. Still, we are open to and looking for inspiration everywhere.
We are so grateful that we are now business partners as well as dear friends. We are excited to share with others stories that inspire and engage through the power of live theatre.
